musings

As Jayne notes, most of the publishing companies have companion websites and want us to use their product with the idea that the website comes with the package. There is composing space there as well as our Blackboard site and blogs. While we probably all "feel the need" to incorporate technology into the classroom, I find it somewhat overwhellming trying to decide what might be most appropraite

  1. I would love Blackboard and these publishers to work together so that we could incorporate everything into BB. I was told that there are too many platforms, but since BB and the other large platform merged, there is one that is used by more than the others.

  2. So how excited are you about the update of Bb having the blogging and wiki options? I had those at my last school and thought the students really got into them. They integrate the elements of technology students love while at the same time being centralized at Bb. My biggest irritation with assignments is having to post them to public forums. I understand that is part of digital writing, but I like the posting for class element rather than encouraging their writing to become part of someone's plagiarism attempts.

  3. I would love to see all the textbook companies work with Bb to incorporate their digital books and software. I think that is probably what will happen in the future. I was told that there are technology and compatibility issues, but I suspect--skeptic that I am--that it is all about money!!!! I can't wait to try out the Blog and Wiki in Bb.
